Heart to Heart: April’s Story of Hope, Healing, Resilience
April Von Moxey’s story is nothing short of extraordinary. April had a rare form of flesh-eating pneumonia that was attacking her lungs. She credits AdventHealth for being there, especially the ECMO unit and team, when she and her family needed it the most.
Pam | The Daughter
Pam's father, Jack, was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 2009. Though he underwent aggressive treatment, Jack died eight and half months later. In the midst of her grief, Pam decided to take this tragic loss and turn it into her life’s mission
Vanessa | The Anchor
Without any symptoms, Vanessa's Stage II breast cancer diagnosis was a huge surprise. But she beat cancer and made it her life's mission to help other women do the same.
John | The Cook
John was inspired by a local girl fighting brain cancer. He used his business, 4Rivers Smokehouse, as a ministry to serve families fighting childhood cancer by fundraising for research, treatment and patient assistance.
Jazz | The Firefighter
Fighting fires was something she loved, but it has come at a price. Jazz, as she is called by family and friends, was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer in 2013. "I almost died," she says. "But, I survived cancer. Many, many of my friends didn't."
Melissa | The Teacher
When Melissa was 35, migraines forced her to visit the doctor. Just 50 days later, Melissa passed away from an aggressive form of brain cancer. In those 50 days, Melissa inspired her family, friends and community to find a cure.
Rhett | The Climber
Rhett enjoyed active lifestyle and a variety of outdoor activities. Before a vacation to hike the Appalachian Trail, he went in for a routine check-up which resulted in a bladder cancer diagnosis. But Rhett wasn't going to let that hold him back.
