Retired University of Central Florida offensive lineman Taylor Robertson visited AdventHealth for Children last week. He was joined by several current UCF football players, UCF women’s crew team members and UCF’s mascot, Knightro. After his college career ended at UCF, Taylor went on to play professional football with the Philadelphia Eagles, Calgary Stampeders and Toronto Argonauts.

Taylor currently resides in Stoneycreek, Ontario with his wife, Sarah, but is determined to come back to visit his alma mater, UCF, and AdventHealth for Children as much as possible. Taylor lost his mother to breast cancer when he was just seven which sparked his decision to include philanthropy in his collegiate and professional careers. As an advocate for breast cancer awareness, he formed partnerships, started a cancer charity and is credited for bringing ‘Pink’ for breast cancer awareness to the Canadian Football League.

His second annual trip to AdventHealth for Children focused on growing partnerships with former and current student athletes. His goal is for local colleges to give back to children and families in need. During his visit, Taylor helped raise the spirits of families who are going through a difficult time and even surprised several patients with UCF tickets.

“It’s important for me to come back and give back. You get a chance to look back on your career and reflect. Yes, I got to play college football, but I want to give back to the Orlando community. It’s great to know that I can help these patients forget about their diagnosis for a second.”

Taylor is looking forward to working with UCF and AdventHealth for Children in the future to make a difference in the lives of our littlest patients when they need it the most.
