TRI Launching New Studies

Choose the health content that’s right for you, and get it delivered right in your inbox.

We are currently recruiting patients for several studies at TRI.  Not only will you be helping yourself, but you’ll also be helping future T1D patients live their best life.  If you would like to participate in any of the following, call Call407-303-7100 or email us at [email protected]

DREAM: The purpose of this research study is to find out how many people with acute pancreatitis develop diabetes. Risk factors for diabetes and the types of diabetes that occur after acute pancreatitis will also be studied. We want to enroll men and women, 18-35 years old, who have had pancreatitis in the last 90 days. A small number of people who already had diabetes before their acute pancreatitis attack will be enrolled for comparison.

DOMPE: This phase 3 clinical trial is targeted at newly diagnosed T1D patients.  It will focus on finding out how the body absorbs, distributes and gets rid of the oral drug ladarixin.

AIDE: This study is examining if an insulin pump with different treatment modules can reduce the incidence of low blood sugar and increase the quality of life in people ages 65 and older, who have had Type 1 diabetes for at least one year.

PHROG: This is a study of an investigational medication for increasing the response to low blood glucose in people who have had Type 1 diabetes for more than five years.

Dr. Richard Pratley explains the research being done in the PHROG trial and how it may benefit people with T1D, watch it below.
