Biography

A strong call to help others inspired Sylvester Onyishi, MD, to become a doctor. Channeling his skills, talents and passion into his work as a urologist, he helps patients of all ages manage or resolve the urological issues holding them back from the activities they love.

Dr. Onyishi believes the best way to help you is to listen carefully to your concerns while building a strong person-to-person connection. That way, he'll better understand how your health issues are affecting your life and personalize his recommendations.

Dr. Onyishi received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis and completed his residency at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Tucson. He's a board-certified urologist and a member of the American Urological Association. A native of Nigeria, Dr. Onyishi also speaks Igbo.

Knowing that feeling whole requires fueling your body, mind and spirit, Dr. Onyishi is intentional with his time when he isn't helping patients. To stay physically strong, he enjoys playing tennis and lifting weights. And when he simply needs time to unwind and recharge, he spends quality time with his wife and their young son.
