Biography

Stephanie de Vere, MD, FRCS, is a Board-certified, dual fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon with Sano Orthopedics.

Born and raised in Canada, she earned her undergraduate degree in neuroscience from the University of Lethbridge and her medical degree from the Cummings School of Medicine, both in Alberta. She then completed her residency at the University of Alberta and went on to complete two fellowships: first a complex spine surgery fellowship through the University of Toronto, then a hybrid spine fellowship with cross-appointment to the Divisions of Neurosurgical and Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Ottawa. She is Board-certified in orthopedic surgery and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS).

Dr. de Vere's extraordinarily extensive specialized training is matched only by her compassionate and candid bedside manner. Her patient-centric philosophy leads her to exhaust all non-operative treatment options before pursuing a surgical treatment plan, clearly communicating the benefits and risks of each option along the way.

Personal Interests

In her free time, Dr. de Vere enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, listening to live music and undertaking DIY projects.
