Sherif Makar, MD

Dr. Sherif Makar, board-certified neurologist and fellowship-trained neuro-oncologist, received his medical degree from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa. He completed his residency training in neurology at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville, where he was named Outstanding Resident Educator. Dr. Makar also completed a fellowship as part of the prestigious neuro-oncology program at Stanford University. His primary goal is to provide exceptional care for his patients through research and clinical expertise.

Dr. Makar is a neuro-oncologist who cares for his patients by collaborating with a team of brain tumor experts. He sees patients who have been diagnosed with primary and metastatic nervous system neoplasms. He treats his neuro-oncology patients through chemotherapy, intrathecal chemotherapy, Optune and personalized medicine such as molecular phenotyping. He also believes that palliative care is very important to provide to his patients.

Dr. Makar enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends. He also enjoys the adventures of traveling internationally, and he is an avid sports fan who likes to watch basketball, football and soccer.
