Biography

Shawna VanLeeuwen, APRN, FNP-C, is a Board-certified family nurse practitioner specializing in cardiovascular care at AdventHealth Medical Group Cardiology & Cardiovascular Surgery. She focuses much of her practice on patients undergoing electrophysiology care and also sees patients for general cardiology care.

Shawna earned both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Kansas School of Nursing, graduating with honors. In addition to working as a cardiology nurse practitioner since 2014, her experience includes work in organ transplant management, case management and nurse education. She joined AdventHealth Medical Group Cardiology & Cardiovascular Surgery in 2017 and she sees patients at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission.

When she's not in the office caring for patients, Shawna enjoys bike riding with her daughter.
