Biography

Robert Petro, DO, CAQ-SM, is a family and sports medicine physician offering primary care for the whole family, from pediatric care to geriatric expertise for older adults. Dr. Petro cares for various common illnesses and specific conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries and somatic dysfunction. He is skilled in osteopathic manipulative medicine and routine procedures like joint injections, skin biopsies and IUD placement and removal.

Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Petro enjoys building relationships with patients of all backgrounds and was called to the medical field out of a passion for helping others achieve optimal health.

Dr. Petro earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of California Santa Cruz and completed medical school at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He underwent a family medicine residency at Sky Ridge Medical Center and finished a sports medicine fellowship at St. Anthony North Hospital. Dr. Petro also served as a flight surgeon at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. Petro spends as much time as he can with his wife and kids and their dogs, and he stays active by hiking, mountain biking and cycling.
