Paul Chakola, MD

Dr. Paul Chakola earned his Medical Degree from the University of Kerala in Kerala, India. He completed his internship at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Chakola completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Louisiana State University at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. He also completed his Fellowship in Pulmonology and Critical Care at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Chakola is a Fellow of American College of Chests Physicians (F.C.C.P.). Dr. Chakola is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and has been practicing in east Pasco County for over 32 years.

I have been in Pulmonary/Critical Care Practice for more than 40 years. I have treated patients of all different socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. I try to treat all patients with two guiding principles, 1) compassion and 2) empathy. I have been on the receiving end of compassion when a close family member was gravely ill and the oncologist came from his office and gave my relative a hug and asked how she was doing. That was a touching moment for me.
