Melissa Levack, MD, FACS, FACC

Melissa Levack, MD, FACS, FACC, is a double board-certified surgeon specializing in cardiac surgery and serves as the AdventHealth Rocky Mountain Region Medical Director of Cardiac Surgery. She sees adults for conditions such as aortic aneurysms, aortic valve disease, coronary artery disease and mitral valve disease. Her passion for treating heart patients led her to cardiac surgery, where she believes she can make a real difference in patient’s lives.

Dr. Levack received her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Ga., and her bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College. She completed a general surgery residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, a research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

She’s a former Assistant Professor of Surgery and Director of Thoracic Aortic Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American Heart Association, the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Cardiology and the 21st Century Cardiothoracic Surgery Society. She has also been an invited speaker for a number of national programs.

Outside work, Dr. Levack likes to be active by dancing, running, or walking her dog. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter and trying new restaurants.

Dr. Levack’s goal is to care for patients the way she would want herself or her family members to be cared for. She works collaboratively with you and a multidisciplinary team to accomplish the desired treatment goals with care and compassion.
