Biography

Mark R. Zunkiewicz, MD, is board certified in orthopedic surgery and fellowship trained in orthopedic sports medicine and arthroscopy. In addition to general orthopedic medicine, he has a special interest in sports medicine rehabilitation and wellness; shoulder and knee procedures; knee and shoulder replacements; fracture care; hand and wrist surgery; and foot and ankle surgery. He enjoys working with athletes and active people of all ages, with a goal of returning his patients to competition and the level of activity they expect in a safe and efficient way.

A summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University where he was a varsity track and field athlete, Dr. Zunkiewicz earned multiple academic scholarships and has been an Eagle Scout since 1996. He earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Ohio – currently known as The University of Toledo College of Medicine – and completed his internship and residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, capping his tenure there as Chief Orthopedic Surgery Resident. He thereafter completed a one-year advanced fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine and arthroscopy at the Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Jackson, MS.
