Dr. Allen and the staff at the Center for Behavioral Health provide comprehensive psychiatric services to residents of Winter Park and the surrounding communities. He has been associated with Florida Hospital’s Center for Behavioral Health since 1997, serving as its Medical Director since 1998. Dr. Allen is board certified in general and geriatric psychiatry and holds academic appointment at Florida State University, Nova Southeastern University, and St. Matthew’s University. Dr. Allen is a firm believer in community involvement and serves on the Board of Directors for the Alzheimer & Dementia Resource Center, is a Maturing Minds™ advisory committee member, and volunteers at Shepherd’s Hope, a non-denominational health care organization. Dr. Allen holds additional training in Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT) and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), both used as treatment resistant options to depression.
