Dr. Adkins earned his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia. He completed his internship at University General Hospital in Seminole, FL, and completed a residency in family medicine at Suncoast Hospital in Largo, FL. Dr. Adkins owned a private practice in Fort Meyers, FL, for 25 years and served as the medical director for several skilled nursing facilities in the Fort Myers and Cape Coral, FL, area. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Air Force.
