George J. Palmer, MD

George J. Palmer, MD, is a board-certified thoracic surgeon with specialty training in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery. Dr. Palmer has been in practice here in Central Florida since 1989. His clinical expertise includes all areas of general cardiac surgery, and more than over 10,000 open heart procedures, over his 33-year career. He has been recognized regionally and nationally for his expertise in the conduction system of the heart and implantable devices particularly in lead management and lead extraction.

Dr. Palmer is passionate about patient outcomes and safety, which has been reflected by his administrative training and responsibilities throughout his career. He was the Director of Cardiovascular Surgery at AdventHealth Orlando from 2005 to 2019. Subsequently, he led the design, implementation, and execution of the new Cardiovascular Surgery program at AdventHealth Celebration as its director. The program has been recognized by the prestigious 3-star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgery within its first three years of operation.
