Emily Equitz, PA-C

Emily Equitz, PA, works on the liver transplant team. She appreciates being able to help provide patients with a life changing and life prolonging treatment for complex liver diseases. She treats her patients with the following conditions: chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, acute liver failure, alcohol associated cirrhosis, autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Emily finds it rewarding to see patients who are extremely sick with a poor chance of survival have an opportunity for new life after a liver transplant.

Emily received her masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Baylor College of Medicine. Her bachelor’s degree in Advanced Nutritional Sciences was obtained at the University of Texas at Austin. She completed her Advanced Practice Providers Fellowship in Hospital Medicine at the University of Colorado Hospital.

When not helping her patients live their best life, Emily enjoys hiking, playing with her dogs, and doing jigsaw puzzles.

What Emily loves the most about working in the field of liver transplant is caring for her patients both in the clinic and when they are acutely hospitalized. She works her hardest to try and understand all the various factors contributing to her patient's diseases or conditions. Then, she can provide well rounded care and hopefully improve health outcomes. She strives to help her patients feel heard and supported and wants her patients to feel trust in the transplant team.
