Derek M. Low, MD

Derek Low, MD, is a Board-certified pulmonologist and critical care physician with AdventHealth Medical Group Pulmonology at Shawnee Mission. His clinical experience includes caring for patients with sarcoidosis, cystic fibrosis and other pulmonary conditions, and his medical research in pulmonology and critical care has earned him numerous professional honors.

Dr. Low earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he was named Resident of the Year. He then continued his specialty training in Denver with a pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowship at the University of Colorado and National Jewish Health. He joined Pulmonology at Shawnee Mission in 2021.

Dr. Low is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Thoracic Society. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and bicycling.
