Carmen Gruia, APRN

Carmen Gruia is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with over five years of experience in primary care practice and over 25 years as an RN. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, she treats patients aged five and up. Carmen earned a Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner from Maryville University in St. Louis, MO and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Walla Walla University in College Place, WA. Her most recent role as a FNP was at Centerville Health Center with Kettering Health in Centerville, OH. Prior to that, Carmen was a Family Nurse Practitioner for Community Physicians of Yellow Springs in Yellow Springs, OH. Carmen worked as an operating room, post- anesthesia care unit and GI/endoscopy RN at Soin Medical Center with Kettering Health in Beavercreek, OH. Carmen has extensive surgical experience in general, vascular, robotic, orthopedic, cardiac, gynecologic, neurologic, ENT, thoracic, plastic and urologic surgeries. She has also worked as a medical, surgical, PACU, and GI nurse, and a perioperative educator, Certified Nurse-Operating Room with the open-heart surgical team RN at Adventist Medical Center in Portland, OR where she worked for 18 years. She speaks English, Dutch and Romanian.

Outside her practice, Carmen enjoys cooking, traveling, gardening, interior design, the beach, and spending quality time with friends and family. She also enjoys singing, and plays violin and piano.

Carmen believes in creating a trusted partnership with her patients. She aims to provide an integrated, team-based approach to helping her patients achieve their health goals.
