Brian Smith, MD

Brian Smith, MD, is a board-certified urologist and has been awarded the UroLift Center of Excellence for his use of the UroLift System as a treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men. He treats patients sixteen and over. He specializes in BPH, voiding symptoms, stone disease, neurogenic bladder, bladder cancer, prostate cancer-localized, advanced disease endoscopic stone management, extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL), transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP), Urolift, Greenlight PVP, and MRI fusion prostate biopsies. Dr. Smith wants his patients to be involved in their care so they know what he will be doing, why he is doing it, and how expected outcomes can impact the patients’ health and well-being.

Dr. Smith obtained his Medical Doctorate from the University of Colorado and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Colorado College. He then completed a general surgery internship followed by his residency in general surgery and urology at the University of Utah. He is a member of the American Urologic Association, South Central Section of American Urologic Association, Denver Medical Society, American Medical Association, and the Colorado Medical Society.

Dr. Smith spends his time away from work, hiking, biking, gardening, and skiing. He enjoys travelling to see his grown children, other parts of our country, and the world.

Dr. Smith strives to have his patients understand and to be involved in their care so they can address urologic and other health concerns in a collaborative fashion.
