Biography

Susan Freeman, MD is a board-certified physician specializing in medical oncology, providing comprehensive cancer care from diagnosis and treatment through long-term monitoring and survivorship. She prescribes and manages both IV and oral chemotherapy and other advanced cancer therapies, guiding patients through every stage of their care. Dr. Freeman’s call to medicine began early, rooted in a lifelong love of science and shaped by early exposure to clinical medicine and personal experiences with family members affected by cancer. She found deep fulfillment throughout medical school and continues to be inspired by the rapid advancements in modern medicine. While she appreciates the scientific innovation in oncology, it is the human connection with patients that she values most and considers the most meaningful part of her career. Dr. Freeman earned her Bachelor of Arts with honors in Government from the University of Texas at Austin and her Doctor of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at The University of Chicago, followed by a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at The University of Chicago and University of Colorado Hospital. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, actively practices Medical Oncology, participates in the American Board of Internal Medicine Maintenance of Certification Program, and is Basic Life Support (BLS) certified. She is an active member of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Society of Medical Oncology.
