Steven Hernandez, MD

Steven Hernandez, MD, is a board-certified vascular surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of complex arterial and venous disease. He earned his Doctor of Medicine, magna cum laude, from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada. He completed a residency in general surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey, where he served as administrator chief surgical resident, followed by a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York. Before joining AdventHealth, Dr. Hernandez trained and practiced in academic medical centers in New York and New Jersey and participated in national research initiatives and international surgical mission work.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, staying active, exploring the outdoors, playing chess, trying new restaurants, and discovering everything the Orlando community has to offer.

My care philosophy is to treat every patient like family. I believe in listening to, educating, and partnering with my patients to provide compassionate, personalized care that puts their individual needs first. My goal is to make a meaningful difference in each patient’s life. Whether it is relieving pain, preventing a stroke, saving a limb, or saving a life, helping my patients regain their health, independence, and quality of life is incredibly rewarding.
