Shawn Nakamura, MD

Dr. Nakamura is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in total hip and total knee replacement surgery. Originally born in Hawaii and raised in Pueblo, Colorado, he is dedicated to helping patients overcome joint pain, restore mobility, and return to the activities they enjoy most. Known for his patient-centered approach, Dr. Nakamura emphasizes education and shared decision-making, partnering with each patient to develop a treatment plan that aligns with their goals and lifestyle. Dr. Nakamura earned his medical degree from Yale School of Medicine. He then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Tulane University, followed by a fellowship in adult reconstruction and total joint replacement at Tulane University. A devoted family man, Dr. Nakamura is committed to providing compassionate, personalized care while helping patients improve their function and quality of life.

Dr. Nakamura enjoys spending time outside with his wife and their two dogs, he also enjoys watching his three sons play sports.
