Sean Keyes, DO

Dr. Sean Keyes, DO is a board-certified pediatric orthopedic surgeon and orthopedic sports medicine specialist with the AdventHealth Medical Group at AdventHealth for Children. He is widely recognized for his expertise in pediatric and adolescent sports and trauma care, with particular emphasis on complex knee and shoulder injuries in growing athletes.

A national leader in pediatric ACL surgery, Dr. Keyes is among the earliest adopters and most experienced pediatric surgeons in the country performing Bridge-Enhanced ACL Restoration (BEAR). He has served on national committees developing rehabilitation protocols, publishes clinical outcomes research on the BEAR implant, and lectures across the United States on its use in young athletes. His work helps shape the evolving standards of ACL treatment in children and teens and has positioned him as a respected expert in this rapidly advancing field.

His academic contributions include numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on pediatric ACL reconstruction, patellar instability, fracture management, cartilage injuries, and surgical techniques. He is a frequent podium and panel presenter at national conferences, including the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (AOAO), Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA), and major sports medicine meetings.

Dr. Keyes has been repeatedly recognized for excellence in patient care, receiving multiple Press Ganey Patient Experience Top Performer Awards, AdventHealth Service and Professionalism Awards, and annual honors as an Orlando Top Doctor and Orlando Premier Doctor. He also serves in key leadership positions, including Assistant Chief of Staff at AdventHealth for Children, AOAO Sports Section 2nd Vice President, and Pediatric Orthopedics APP Director for AdventHealth Medical Group.

Deeply committed to the Central Florida community, Dr. Keyes serves as team physician for Bishop Moore, Edgewater, and Jones High School, and provides medical coverage for major collegiate and professional events. He is equally dedicated to medical education, mentoring students and residents across multiple training programs.

Dr. Keyes’ clinical philosophy centers on helping injured children and young athletes return safely and confidently to the activities they love. He prioritizes minimally invasive techniques, evidence-based treatment, and collaborative decision-making with families.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys obstacle course racing, coaching youth sports, and being actively involved in the lives of his four children.
