Santosh Shanmuga, MD

Dr. Santosh Shanmuga is a board-certified urologist and Major in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, currently serving as Staff Urologist and Officer in Charge of the Urology Clinic at Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Moore, Georgia. He also practices as a locum tenens urologist with Ballad Health System at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Tennessee. Dr. Shanmuga completed his urology residency with the National Capital Consortium in Bethesda, Maryland, after earning his Doctor of Medicine from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Duke University. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Shanmuga has an extensive background in biomedical and translational research, with prior experience in pharmaceutical development, academic research laboratories, and animal research facilities. His work has included LC-MS assay development, proteomics, molecular biology, and immunologic research in both academic and industry settings. He maintains active medical licensure, holds multiple advanced life support and military medical certifications, and is an active member of the American Urological Association.
