Rachel Oldfather, MD

Rachel Oldfather, MD, is a Board-certified Internal Medicine and Pediatrics physician with AdventHealth Medical Group Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at South Overland Park. She provides comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, from childhood through adulthood. Dr. Oldfather supports children and adults in making thoughtful, mindful choices regarding their care, so they feel prepared and confident in their daily lives and communities. Her approach emphasizes trauma informed care, patient safety, and shared decision making, with a strong focus on preventive care and the management of chronic conditions. She also has a deep interest in supporting mental health needs, including anxiety, depression, and stress related concerns, within the primary care setting. Her clinical interests include culturally responsive care for immigrants, refugees, and internationally adopted children, as well as adolescent and young adult health, including sensitive conversations around identity, sexuality, and mental well being. Dr. Oldfather also provides compassionate support for patients and families navigating serious illness and end of life care, honoring each person’s values, experiences, and relationships. Dr. Oldfather earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and completed her combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at the University of Missouri–Kansas City. She accepts patients of all ages and provides preventive primary care services, including knee injections. Prenatal care is not provided.
