Peter Gerges, MD, is a board-certified transplant hepatologist. Dr. Gerges earned his medical degree from Ain Shams University in Egypt. He completed a residency in internal medicine at AdventHealth Orlando. Dr. Gerges then completed advanced fellowship training at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, specializing in advanced and transplant hepatology, where he was named Chief Fellow. He manages patients with liver disorders ranging from viral hepatitis, genetic and fatty liver diseases, cirrhosis, end-stage liver disease to acute liver failure. In 2021, Dr. Gerges received the AdventHealth Orlando COVID-19 ICU Hero Award.
