Michelle Hintz, NP

Michelle Hintz, NP is an experienced nurse practitioner specializing in hematology and oncology, providing compassionate, comprehensive care to patients at every stage of cancer care. With a strong clinical background in both inpatient and outpatient oncology settings, she cares for individuals with solid tumor and hematologic malignancies, as well as complex blood and bone marrow disorders. Michelle is dedicated to supporting patients through diagnosis, treatment, symptom management, and survivorship while prioritizing both evidence-based medicine and quality of life. Michelle believes that high-quality cancer care comes from balancing effective treatment with meaningful day-to-day living. She takes a whole-person approach, recognizing that each patient’s goals, values, and life circumstances are unique. Her priority is to partner closely with patients to develop individualized care plans that support both optimal clinical outcomes and quality of life. She is committed to building trusting relationships, walking alongside patients through every stage of their journey, and ensuring they never feel alone in their care. Drawn to hematology and oncology for the opportunity to form long-term therapeutic relationships, Michelle finds deep meaning in supporting patients through some of the most challenging moments of their lives. She is especially passionate about listening to what matters most to each patient, helping them navigate uncertainty and decision-making, and preserving dignity, comfort, and peace throughout treatment and beyond. Michelle earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida and her graduate degree from the University of Colorado. She brings 14 years of experience in hematology and oncology, with a strong foundation in managing complex cancer care across settings. Over the past two years at the University of Colorado, she trained under and worked closely with leading physicians in hematologic malignancy and cellular therapy, further advancing her clinical expertise. Michelle’s compassion and dedication to patient care were recognized with the Caring Heart Award, an honor celebrating exceptional empathy, service, and commitment to patients.

Outside of clinical practice, Michelle enjoys raising her children, reading, traveling, and spending time outdoors hiking and climbing. She values lifelong learning and continually seeks new skills and experiences that enrich both her professional and personal life.
