Melisa Wilson, DNP, APRN, BC

Melisa Wilson, DNP, ACNP,APRN-BC, is an acute care nurse practitioner specializing in pulmonary hypertension. She has been working with patients with pulmonary hypertension since 2006. At AdventHealth she is the Pulmonary Hypertension Program Coordinator and the Advanced Lung Disease Institute Clinical Operations Director. In 2015, Melisa was the recipient of the Pulmonary Hypertension Association's Periwinkle Pioneer Award, presented to practitioners responsible for advancing care for pulmonary hypertension patients and helping to change the history of the disease.

She received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Duke University in Durham, NC in 2020.

Melisa enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also likes public speaking on various topics, provides support to those battling breast cancer, and participates in activities to increase public awareness.

Melisa takes a personal interest in every patent she sees. Many of her patients have been coming to see Dr. Tarver and her for years. During that time, many deep and meaningful bonds have been formed that make the care experience very real and very personal for both the patient and Melisa.
