Louis Arsenio Gerena, MD, CAQSM, FAAFP

Louis Arsenio Gerena, MD, CAQSM, FAAFP, is a board-certified family medicine physician with fellowship training in primary care sports medicine and more than five years of experience providing orthopedic and sports medicine care. He completed a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute and Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama, and completed residency training in family medicine at the Trident/MUSC Family Medicine Residency Program in Charleston, South Carolina. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Florida State University College of Medicine in Tallahassee, Florida. Most recently, Dr. Gerena served as a non-surgical sports medicine physician at Holzer Health Systems and as a sports medicine faculty member at Marshall University. His experience includes caring for athletes at all levels, including collegiate and professional teams, and providing non-operative orthopedic care and injury management.
