Kegan Jessamy, MD

Kegan Jessamy, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist with more than 15 years of clinical experience. He earned his medical degree from the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and completed an internal medicine residency and a gastroenterology fellowship at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. Before joining AdventHealth, Dr. Jessamy practiced with Tidelands Health Group in Georgetown, SC, where he developed and opened the health system’s motility lab, and later with Lake Gastroenterology Associates in Tavares, FL. His clinical interests include colorectal and gastric cancer prevention, GERD and Barrett’s esophagus, swallowing and bowel function disorders and liver disease. Dr. Jessamy emphasizes evidence-based care, shared decision-making and improving quality of life, and has published research and presented nationally through the American College of Gastroenterology.

Outside of medicine, I value time with family, regular exercise, and maintaining a healthy work‑life balance. I enjoy staying current with medical literature and practice‑management strategies that improve efficiency and patient experience. I am also interested in the intersection of healthcare systems, physician wellness, and long‑term career sustainability—reflecting my commitment to being present and effective for my patients over the course of their lives.
