John P. Costello III, MD, is a board-certified pediatric and congenital cardiac surgeon specializing in the surgical treatment of complex heart conditions in children and adults with congenital heart disease. He earned his medical degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland and completed advanced training in general surgery at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, thoracic surgery at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois and congenital cardiac surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, England, Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois, and Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He joins AdventHealth from Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, where he served as an attending pediatric and congenital cardiac surgeon and held leadership roles in surgical quality and fellowship education.
