Gavin Van Staden, MD

Gavin Van Staden, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician who cares for patients ages 12 and older. Dr. Van Staden earned his medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, and trained at Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in Exeter, England. Most recently, he practiced as a family physician and assistant professor with the University of Central Florida Health in Orlando, Florida. Earlier roles included the University of Utah Farmington Health Center in Farmington, Utah, Woodmead Medical Clinic in Bountiful, Utah, Davis Family Physicians in Layton, Utah and the University of Utah Health Care clinics in Stansbury Park and Centerville, Utah. He speaks English and Afrikaans. His publications focus on image intensifier positioning and operating room safety.

Outside work, Dr. Van Staden enjoys endurance sports and time with his wife and four children.

Dr. Van Staden values long-term relationships with patients and their families because they help him understand each person’s medical, social and work-related needs. He uses that understanding to make personalized treatment recommendations and support patients through acute, chronic and preventive care.
