Chassidy Grimes, MD, is a colorectal surgeon with more than six years of surgical training in general surgery and colon and rectal surgery. She earned her medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and completed a general surgery residency at Rush University. Most recently, Dr. Grimes trained in colon and rectal surgery through the Prisma Health – University of South Carolina – Greenville fellowship. Her work includes colorectal surgery research at Rush University Medical Center, where she mentored medical student projects and contributed to the Rush Surgical Outcome Research Collaborative. Dr. Grimes’ academic work includes publications, abstracts and presentations on colorectal surgery, sarcopenia, chemotherapy tolerance in stage III colon cancer, hemorrhoidal disease and malignant large bowel obstruction.
