Abdul Sattar Shariq Mohammed, MD

Abdul Sattar Shariq Mohammed, MD, is a board-certified Gastroenterologist with additional training in Advanced Endoscopy and more than 10 years of clinical experience. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Cook County Health in Chicago, Illinois. He served as a Clinical Associate in the Department of Hospital Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Mohammed completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at AdventHealth in Orlando, Florida. He completed a fellowship in Advanced Endoscopy at the Center for Interventional Endoscopy at AdventHealth Hospital in Orlando, Florida. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications, and book chapters in premier medical journals. Dr. Mohammed is an active member of several gastrointestinal societies and serves on the ACG Practice Management Committee.

I believe that how we communicate with patients is inseparable from how we care for them. Taking the time to truly listen, to explain in plain language, to answer the question behind the question — these are not soft skills peripheral to the work, they are the foundation upon which good outcomes are built. A patient who feels heard and understood is one who can participate in their own healing. Whether I am guiding someone through the management of a chronic digestive condition or performing a complex interventional procedure, I bring the same attentiveness to every encounter — careful, deliberate, and always mindful that the person in front of me has placed an extraordinary amount of trust in my hands. That trust is something I take seriously and work every day to deserve. The moments I carry with me longest are rarely the most technically complex. They are the ones where a patient left feeling genuinely cared for, not just treated.
