Volunteer Opportunities
Are you looking for volunteer opportunities for school service hours, to make friends, gain healthcare experience, give back to your community, learn new skills or perhaps all of the above? AdventHealth offers a variety of volunteer opportunities in clinical and non-clinical service areas for individuals 16 years of age or older at our Central Florida area locations.

Our volunteer program welcomes anyone from the community ages 16+ with a desire to serve others to apply. We just ask that you commit to volunteering at least four hours each week (this is flexible around your schedule).
Examples of just some of the volunteer roles we offer are:
Interested in Becoming a Pet Therapy Volunteer? Here are the next steps! Requirements: 1. Your therapy dog must be currently certified through a therapy dog organization such as Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Canine Companions, Pet Partners, etc. 2. Your therapy dog must be up to date with all vaccinations (Rabies, Bordatella, Coggins, etc.) 3. Your therapy dog must be older than a year and you must have owned them for longer than 6 months.

Our unpaid nonclinical internships are designed to give students exposure and a better understanding of daily operational tasks and hospital functions. During the semester, students will experience mentorship from the support of their AdventHealth department preceptor and their academic institution.
Typical internship positions offered: Facilities Management, Human Resources, Nursing Administration, Marketing & Communications, Business Strategy, Patient Experience, etc.
Internship Program Information:
Semester requirement of 120-240 hours.
Internship Hours: Approximately 8 - 20 hrs. per week, 2-3 days per week.
Can provide valid physical U.S. employment verification identification
Can provide physical social security card.
Enrolled in Internship Course for Credit OR can provide Approval Letter from school.
Able to commit to an unpaid internship opportunity.
Can commit to Fall Semester duration: August 24 - December 11

Program Management: As a Program Management Intern on the Mission and Ministry Team, you will be helping to interact with AH team members who have applied for benevolence through the HOPE Fund. Health Institute: As a Health Institute Intern you will support the Lifestyle Program by helping coordinate clinical and administrative meetings, tracking action plans and next steps, and working with program coordinators to report outcomes. You will serve as a liaison between referring departments and the program, helping strengthen communication, support referrals, and promote the program to other specialties. The intern would support the Glycemic Health Support initiative by helping coordinate communication between the program coordinator, referring teams, and the Health Navigation Center to ensure eligible MVP patients are contacted and connected to diabetes management resources.
