Our volunteer program welcomes anyone from the community ages 16+ with a desire to serve others to apply. We just ask that you commit to volunteering at least four hours each week (this is flexible around your schedule).
Examples of just some of the volunteer roles we offer are:

Interested in Becoming a Pet Therapy Volunteer? Here are the next steps!
Requirements:
1. Your therapy dog must be currently certified through a therapy dog organization such as Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Canine Companions, Pet Partners, etc.
2. Your therapy dog must be up to date with all vaccinations (Rabies, Bordatella, Coggins, etc.)
3. Your therapy dog must be older than a year and you must have owned them for longer than 6 months.

Educational Opportunities
AdventHealth strives to provide opportunities that expose students to a high level of healthcare experiences and learning from staff who are some of the best in their fields. We are glad you're here and interested in furthering your education with us.
- Nonclinical Internships
-
Our unpaid nonclinical internships are designed to give students exposure and a better understanding of daily operational tasks and hospital functions. During the semester, students will experience mentorship from the support of their AdventHealth department preceptor and their academic institution.
Typical internship positions offered: Facilities Management, Human Resources, Nursing Administration, Marketing & Communications, Business Strategy, Patient Experience, etc.
Internship Program Information:
- Semester requirement of 120-240 hours
- Internship Hours: Approximately 8 - 20 hrs. per week, 2-3 days per week.
- Typical Office Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm (In-Person/On-site)
- Possess valid U.S. employment verification documents
- Enrolled in Internship Course for Credit and/or Have School Approval Letter
- Enrolled at UCF, UF, AHU, Rollins College or Valencia College
- Summer Semester Duration: 5/12/26 - 7/24/26. Summer 2026 Internship Application is Closed.
- Fall Semester Application Opens: May 2026
- Observation Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in an observer experience at AdventHealth. The observation experience is intended to provide you with a preview of potential career paths in healthcare. Requests shall be made through Human Resources. Human Resources is unable to provide or assist in finding Sponsors/Preceptors.
- An Individual must be 17 years old to observe on our premises.
- The observation experience is a “no hands on” patient contact and always requires the presence of a preceptor.
- An observer is responsible for:
- Securing a sponsor/preceptor.
- Ensuring the application is correctly completed with all observation dates and signatures.
- Planning logistics with their sponsor (i.e., time, observation date, etc.)
