Made possible by the Persaud Legacy Foundation, the Mother Baby Room will provide a private, comfortable and supportive environment for nursing mothers who are guests at the hospital. The room features two plush recliners, a television and a mini fridge stocked with cold beverages.

“Lactation suites like the Persaud Mother Baby Room play a vital role in supporting maternal and infant health,” said Jill Mendez, chief nursing officer at AdventHealth Carrollwood. “By offering mothers a designated space to nurse or pump in privacy and comfort, we help reduce barriers to breastfeeding and promote overall wellness for families.”

Numerous studies highlight the health benefits of breastfeeding for both mothers and infants, yet many women cite lack of access to clean, quiet, and private spaces as a barrier. With this new resource, AdventHealth Carrollwood is taking a meaningful step toward supporting women in their journey—from birth through recovery and beyond.

The ribbon-cutting event and tour was attended by leaders from the AdventHealth Carrollwood Foundation, AdventHealth Carrollwood and the Persaud Legacy Foundation.

“We are grateful for the thoughtfulness and wonderful generosity of the Persaud family in making this room possible. This space symbolizes the nurture, compassion, and care we want for our families, our team, and our community,” said Joe Johnson, CEO and president of AdventHealth Carrollwood.
