AdventHealth, OurLegacy celebrate Donate Life Day April 16

ORLANDO, Fla., April 15, 2021 — AdventHealth and OurLegacy, the region’s organ procurement organization, are commemorating National Donate Life Blue & Green Day 2021 on April 16. As part of the observance, 217 pinwheels will be placed at the AdventHealth Orlando campus and at Lake Eola in Orlando to represent the 217 donors who gave the gift of life in Central Florida in 2020.

Additionally, Donate Life flags have been raised at AdventHealth campuses, and the lights on the Ginsburg Tower at AdventHealth Orlando will glow blue and green on Friday.

In 2020, the AdventHealth Transplant Institute saved the lives of 330 Central Floridians thanks to the generosity of organ donors. Last year, more than 36,000 Americans received a lifesaving organ transplants in the United States. In February, OurLegacy reached the milestone of having procured 10,000 organs.
