Additional Protection for Life's Unexpected Moments
Supplemental insurance provides financial support when the unexpected happens. These benefits are designed to work alongside your medical coverage — helping cover out‑of‑pocket costs associated with accidents, hospital stays or certain serious illnesses. Whether it’s replacing lost income, paying medical bills or supporting everyday expenses during recovery, supplemental insurance helps protect your financial well‑being so you can focus on healing. You can choose the coverage that fits your needs, with premiums paid through payroll deductions.
Available Supplemental Plans
- Hospital Indemnity Insurance
-
Hospital Indemnity Insurance pays a benefit directly to you when you are admitted to the hospital or require extended inpatient care. This can help cover expenses such as deductibles, copays, transportation, childcare or everyday bills that continue while you recover.
Key Highlights:
- Paid directly to you
- Supports unexpected hospital costs
- Helps cover household and recovery expenses
- Accident Insurance
-
Accident Insurance provides cash benefits when you experience an unexpected injury. From fractures and burns to ER visits and follow‑up care, these benefits help offset the costs that often arise after an accident.

- Coverage for common injuries like fractures, sprains and dislocations
- Benefits for emergency care, imaging and follow‑up treatment
- Helps cover expenses your health plan may not fully pay
- Critical Illness Insurance
-
Critical Illness Insurance pays a lump‑sum benefit if you’re diagnosed with a covered serious condition, such as cancer, heart attack or stroke. This benefit can support both medical and non‑medical expenses so you can concentrate on recovery.
Key Highlights:
- Lump‑sum payment upon diagnosis
- Helps with treatment costs, travel and daily living expenses
- Provides peace of mind during major health events
On the Fence About Critical Illness Coverage?
If you’re unsure whether Critical Illness Insurance is right for you, here are three additional benefits that may help you decide:
- Wellness Benefit
You’ll receive $50 per covered family member when they complete a covered health screening test — such as an immunization, eye exam, routine physical or well‑child/preventive visit. This is in addition to in‑network preventive care being covered at 100% under AdventHealth medical plans. - Diabetes Diagnosis Benefit
If diagnosed with Type I diabetes, you’ll receive 50% of the full-face amount.
A 25% benefit is paid for a Type II diabetes diagnosis.
This benefit is available once per lifetime, regardless of diabetes type. - Breast Cancer Enhancement
Critical Illness Insurance pays the full-face amount even when breast cancer is diagnosed as carcinoma in situ — a benefit many plans do not provide.
