Your Time Matters
At AdventHealth, we believe time away from work is essential for your well-being. Our PTO program gives you the flexibility to rest, recharge and take care of life’s moments — whether it’s a vacation, a holiday or simply a personal day.
Your Guide to Paid Time Off
- New Team Members
-
Welcome aboard. You’ll start earning PTO on day one — and we even advance you 24 hours of PTO upfront to help with any immediate needs.
Please note: Because you receive PTO in advance, the amount credited each pay period during your first year is adjusted so your total annual PTO accrual remains the same.
- Making the Most of Your PTO
-
Your PTO is yours to use for vacations, holidays, personal days or unexpected needs. Just request time off through UKG and plan ahead when possible so you can truly enjoy your time away.
- Holidays at AdventHealth
-
We love celebrating the moments that matter most! AdventHealth observes six official holidays each year:
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
On these special days, non-exempt team members receive a 50% holiday pay premium as a thank-you for the care you provide. Please note: holiday pay is drawn from your PTO bank, so plan ahead to make the most of your time off.
We know there are other holidays that may be meaningful to you. If you’d like time off for those, connect with your leader and use your available PTO to make it happen.
Enjoy the time to recharge and celebrate with loved ones!
- Cash Out Options for Your PTO
-
After you’ve been with AdventHealth for one year, you have the option to cash out up to 80 hours of PTO each year at 90% of its value, while maintaining a balance of at least 40 hours in your PTO bank. It’s a great way to turn some of your earned time into extra income when you need it!
Please note: Colorado-based team members are not eligible for PTO cash-out due to state regulations.
- Managing Legacy PTO
-
If you have time from our previous program, your Legacy PTO Bank is still available when your PTO runs out.
Paid Time Off (PTO) Schedule
Your PTO grows as you grow with AdventHealth. From day one, you start earning time for yourself — and the longer you’re here, the more you earn. Over time, your accrual rate increases, reaching up to 14% for long-tenured team members, so you can enjoy even more time to rest and recharge.
You can build up to 320 hours in your PTO bank, giving you plenty of flexibility for vacations, personal days or unexpected needs. Leaders at the director level and above follow a slightly different schedule, but the same principle applies: more service means more time for you.

PTO Donation Program: Caring for Each Other
At AdventHealth, we believe in lifting each other up — especially during life's most challenging moments. Our PTO Donation Program is one way we put that belief into action. It allows team members to share a little of what they have to help colleagues in need.
If you have extra PTO, you can donate hours to your facility's PTO Donation Pool. Donations are made to the shared pool rather than to a specific team member, ensuring support is available for those who have exhausted their own PTO and are facing a medical emergency or the loss of an immediate family member. It's a simple, powerful way to show compassion and support when it matters most.
-
Donate PTO
Share your unused PTO hours to help a teammate in need. Minimum donation: 4 hours.
-
Why It Matters
Donations support team members facing medical emergencies or the loss of an immediate family member.
-
How It Works
Submit your donation request in Workday. Keep at least 40 hours for yourself.
-
Give Hope
Every hour you donate turns into time for someone who truly needs it.
